inspired POSTCARDS
For this digital design project the goal was to create three postcard designs inspired by a location and an design style. Both my parent were born and raised in Mexico and I wanted to explore places that reminded me of my heritage. I chose colorful places in Mexico such as the multi-colored streets in Guanajuato and the night lights of the capitol of Mexico. For the style inspiration I went way back into my childhood when I would watch powerful female super-heroes fight in the name of the planets. I love Sailor Moon's animation style and I always to back to watch the original series for inspiration. Mexico is a very colorful place therefore, all the designs have more than 10 colors. Sailor Moon is very dreamy and uses a lot of pastel colors which is portrayed in all the postcards. I also added a Sailor moon staple which are the bubble details. This project was created on Adobe Illustrator.

FRUIT BOOK
I was given the assignment to create a small illustration booklet with a theme. The theme I went with was: fruit. I chose this theme because not only do I adore fruits (duh), but I knew I would be able to experiment with color. I started with sketching concepts for the digital designs I was going to create. Sketching helps me put my ideas all on paper and most importantly EXPAND on them. I first started with some of my favorites (mango, watermelon, and avocado). Then I sketched ones with interesting shapes and textures. I also got to create a banana out of paper, and then edited it digitally. Once I got to create my ideas digitally, I played around with dimension, texture, and color. This project was created on Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Draw.
